Muddle: In a cocktail shaker, muddle an orange slice and a cherry to release the juices and flavors.
Step 2
Prepare the simple syrup: Mix equal parts sugar and water, and heat until the sugar is fully dissolved. Let it cool before using.
Step 3
Combine ingredients: Pour 2 & 1/2 parts Jim Beam Black Bourbon into the shaker and add 1 part simple syrup, 1 part of fresh orange juice and a dash of Angostura bitters.
Step 4
Shake: Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously until well chilled (about 10-15 seconds).
STEP 5
Prepare Glass and combine: Fill a rocks glass with ice and pour 2 parts of cranberry juice.
STEP 6
Strain: Strain the contents of the shaker into the rocks glass over the cranberry juice.
STEP 7
Garnish: Garnish with an orange twist and a cherry.
